This week on the BOX...
DJ has to leave early this week, so it's a short BOX, but he still manages to get in a tribute to Neil Peart. Aside from the influence that Rush - and its individual members - have had on music in general, DJ speaks to his (almost) life-long affinity for Neil's stories and writing style. Citing no bigger influence on the kind of writer he wants to be, DJ plays "A Farewell to Kings" and reads through the chorus just to highlight how poignant the words are today, and could be at any time in our later human history. And that's what makes something lyrical become truly timeless. The man and those stories will be missed.
Back to a full show next week, promise.
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Rush, The Dangerous Summer, Juliana Theory, Something Heavy, Pathmaker, The Nearly Deads, Fightstar, New Found Glory, Coheed and Cambria, Gee Davey and MORE!
